LADS AND LASSES LOOK COOL IN SUNGLASSES!

LADS AND LASSES LOOK COOL IN SUNGLASSES!

Wearing the right pair of shades (sunglasses) with one fine outfit is the epitome of cool! Sunglasses, in addition to keeping the sharp rays of the hot sun out of our eyes, are well, hot.

Sunglasses are a form of protective eyewear designed primarily to prevent bright sunlight and high-energy visible light from damaging and discomforting our eyes. Sunglasses come in a variety of choices, with numerous types of frames and generally colored, polarized or darkened lenses. We all know that sunglasses work wonders when worn when the sun is out, as they protect our eyes from ultraviolet radiation (UV) and blue light, which can cause several serious eye problems. But sunglasses are so trendy and fashionable, that many times sunglasses are worn merely to make a fashion statement and up the looks of our appearance to off the charts sexy.

Sunglasses are a popular fashion accessory and have long been associated with celebrities and film actors to enhance their image both on screen and off the screen. Again, shall we say cool?

Fashion Fun Tip: When wearing sunglasses under direct sunlight, large lenses provide a better protection, and broad temple arms (wide frames) are also needed against stray light coming in from the sides.

Fashion Fun Fact: In the early 20th century, sunglasses were known as sun cheaters (cheaters being an American slang for glasses).

In the early 1900s, the use of sunglasses started to become widespread. As far as celebrities aiding in the popularity of sunglasses, movie stars claimed to wear the vogue glasses to avoid recognition by fans, and because many times they had red eyes from the powerful lamps that were needed due to the extremely slow speed film stocks that were used at that time.

Many famous designers have added to the allure of the sunglass industry. Some of the more notable designer sunglasses are Foster Grants (started by Sam Foster in 1929), Ray-Ban, Oakley, Armani, Gucci, Christian Dior, Salvatore Ferragamo and Dolce and Gabbana, to name a few. There are so many varieties and colors of sunglasses available, that if you truly wanted to, you could own a different pair of sunglasses that would match every outfit in your closet. In addition to the stellar look that sunglasses supply the wearer, the sunglasses also improve our visual comfort and visual clarity by protecting our eyes from glare.

Along with hiding the glare, dark lens and mirrored lens sunglasses hide your stare. When your eyes are covered with cool shades, you can stare away, as no one can tell who it is that you are looking at. Sunglasses also work for hiding your emotions, whether blinking, crying or masking puffy eyes.

With sunglasses, the eyes truly have it!

I wear my sunglasses morning, noon and night! What a cool sight!

Sunglasses can ramp up their attractiveness level merely by the frames that are holding the lenses in place. Frames are generally made of plastic, nylon, metal or metal alloy.

Three Common Styles of Frames:

  1. Full Frame: The frame goes all of the way around the lens.
  2. Half Frame: The frame goes around half of the lens.
  3. Frameless: There is no frame around the lens and the ear stems attach directly to the lenses.

There are Actually Two Styles of Frameless Sunglasses:

  1. Those that have a piece of frame material connecting the two lenses.
  2. Those that are a single lens with ear stems on each side.

Who knew that sunglasses could be so involved and detailed? Many of us just care what they look like and how we look wearing them! I wear my sunglasses at night and indoors, need I say more?

In fashion, there are various styles of sunglasses available. Some of the more common styles are aviator sunglasses, clip-on sunglasses, gradient lenses (ultra cool as the lenses go from a darker shade at the top to a lighter shade at the bottom of the lens), flip-up sunglasses, mirrored sunglasses and oversized sunglasses.

I think that oversized, extremely large lens sunglasses are fun! Fashion flair at its finest!

Who is that peeking out from behind those awesome, sassy and sexy sunglasses?

Sunglasses Fun Fact: It isn’t possible to see the protection that sunglasses offer. Dark lenses don’t automatically filter out more harmful UV radiation and blue light compared to light lenses. The level of protection from short term and long term eye problems stem from the percentage of UVA and UVB light that the lenses are made to reflect and filter out of your eyes.

There is no denying that when your pretty peepers are covered up with modern, hip and cool shades, the look is mesmerizing and eye catching.

Everyone that laps up fashion is well aware that in the realm of wardrobes and accessories, the looks of the item trumps practicality every time. Ask any true fashion bug.

Sunglasses do a lot more than divert bright sunlight from hurting our eyes! Sunglasses speak to the masses.

Lads and lasses look cool in sunglasses!
