Cologne is a blend of essential oils/extracts, alcohol and water. Perfumes and colognes differ in their strength and potency. While perfumes stay on the body for approximately 6 to 8 hours due to their higher concentration of essential oils, colognes generally last on the body for up to 2 hours.

Fragrances for women normally come as perfume, eau de parfum, and eau de toilette.

Fragrances for men are normally colognes preferred for their lighter version of scents, and tend to have muskier and more masculine aromas.
