Have an at-home spa day with these DIY treatments!
It’s always fun to experiment with products and indulge ourselves by using beauty treatments that make us look and feel beautiful. However, it’s not always pleasant for our pocketbooks. With so many beauty and skincare cosmetics on the market, we don’t always know which products truly deliver as promised and if they’re worth the cost.
In our fast-paced, day-to-day lives, what’s the remedy? Do-it-yourself, homemade beauty treatments. By using foods and oils that most of us already have in our refrigerators and cupboards, you can put together inexpensive, easy beauty treatments that work as efficiently as store-bought brands!
Strawberry and Honey Face Mask: Mash 4 or 5 strawberries with a fork and add one teaspoon of honey. Massage the mask onto your clean face and rub in a circular motion. Leave the fruity mask on for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse with a damp, warm cloth. Your skin will feel smooth and radiate with a healthy glow.
Coconut Oil: In addition to smelling delicious, coconut oil has many beauty treatment uses. When applied to your skin, coconut oil is an incredible moisturizer and helps keep skin smooth and wrinkle free. Coconut oil also works as a shampoo, adding sheen and shine to your hair. If you’re doing an at-home manicure, rub the oil over your nails to soften your cuticles. One oil; many uses!
Cucumber and Tomato Toner: To add luster to your skin, a cucumber and tomato toner is your answer. Blend sliced cucumbers and sliced tomatoes together in a food processor or blender. Apply the mixture to your face using your fingers or a cotton ball. Leave on for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water. This beauty treatment works well for alleviating oily skin problems and puffy eyes.
Beauty treatments don’t have to be detailed or expensive. There are many foods, condiments, and ingredients already in your kitchen or medicine cabinet that work wonders for your skin and beauty routine. Think sugar, oatmeal, almonds, oranges, and the list goes on. Healthy foods not only feed us from the inside, but they nourish us when applied externally!
Quick “make your own” beauty treatments that work!
Let your skin glow for very little money with simple ingredients of tomatoes, cucumbers, coconut, strawberries and honey!
