As an author, I adore the invention of reading glasses. I truly believe that without reading glasses, authors would lose readers. For those of you who wear prescription glasses or contact lenses, reading probably isn’t a problem for you. But for others, who don’t wear glasses, even those with 20/20 vision can sometimes have problems trying to see and decipher the teeny, tiny printed words on the pages of a book.
Reading glasses, merely by magnifying the print, enlarge the words and allow the reader to read the book, or the magazine, or their computer screen, easily and without straining or forcing their eyes. And, as with all fashion, if you are going to slide on the miracle that is reading glasses, you may as well cover your eyes with cute, cool ones.
You brainy beauty, you!
Lads and lasses look lovely in reading glasses.
Reading glasses work by the magnification of the magnetic lenses, depending upon where the lens is placed between the wearer’s eye and the object being viewed, and the total distance between them. The magnifying (enlarging) power is equivalent to angular magnification, and the magnifying power is the ratio of the sizes of the images formed on the wearer’s retina with and without the lenses.
Since books tend to run for many pages, you may start out reading with strong, pain free eyes, and find that as you delve deeper into the novel, your eyes begin to hurt and blur, and you get a mild headache. Many times, merely putting on a pair of lightweight reading glasses eliminates the nagging, uncomfortable symptoms!
Since a true fashion diva always looks nice. you can purchase fashionable reading glasses for minimal cost. This allows you to buy a variety of pairs, from frames of all shapes and sizes, to various colors and patterns. You can have an assortment of reading glasses to match your outfits, much the same way as a closet full of shoes.
Reading Glasses Fun Fact: Reading glasses are inexpensive, and can be found at a number of stores, such as CVS/Pharmacy, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target, Walmart, and the .99 Cent Store, to name a few. Reading glasses are purchased without a prescription.
Step into style and read in regal rapture with your eyes decorated behind glamorous glasses.
The earliest evidence of a magnifying device, a convex lens forming a magnified or enlarged image, was Aristophanes’s “lens”, from 424 BC, a glass globe filled with water. It was written that a magnetic lens could be used to read letters “no matter how small or how dim.”
Reading Glasses Fun Fact: Reading glasses are typically rated with a magnifying number (1x, 2x, etc.) with the lower power numbers being much more common. The lower the number, the less magnified the lenses will be. At higher magnifications, the image quality of a simple pair of reading glasses becomes poor due to optical aberrations. The higher the magnification, the more blurry or hazy an image can appear.
