From time to time, most of us experience the stress and strain of daily life. Even on our best days, we have responsibilities and obligations placed on us. Ways to Refresh and Relax After a Stressful Day

  • Exercise: Whether you stretch, lift weights, do yoga, walk or run, major physical activity is beneficial for everyone! Exercise truly does a body and mind good.

  • Deep Breathing: Take a deep breath. Hold it. Now exhale slowly. Continue to do this and feel the tension and stress flow out of you. This takes very little time and is easy to do.
  • Read: Sit on the couch or on your favorite recliner and read a great novel, or thumb through a magazine with interesting articles and pictures. Reading will completely take your mind to another dimension and you’ll forget all about the stress and strain of your day.

  • Take a Hot Bath or Shower: Not only will a hot bath or shower feel heavenly, but it will relax you and allow you to sleep better at night. Wash your stress away this pleasing way!

  • Disconnect: Take time for yourself. Put down your phone and stay off your computer. Go outdoors and take a walk if you feel up to it. You’ll destress and re-energize yourself.

  • Watch Movies: Watching a good movie is always relaxing and enjoyable, whether you prefer dramas, comedies, murder mysteries, horror or action/adventure movies.  Top the fun movie watching experience off with popcorn and a refreshing soda to make your movie going an over-the-top  pleasure.

  • Give Yourself a Makeup Makeover: For all cosmetic lovers, or even those of you that wish to experiment with makeup to create different looks, give yourself a DIY makeup makeover.  From eyelashes to lipstick, changing makeup tones and applications is relaxing, fun and beautifying all in one!

In our hectic, busy world there are ways to slow down and keep it simple. We all need tranquility to rejuvenate our bodies and our minds and keep our inner selves happy and healthy.
