Author Nancy Mangano Demonstrates Fashion Changes on Herself!

As style buffs, we all know that clothes, hair and makeup can be used to create different effects and looks, for whatever occasion that we are dressing for and for whatever mood that we are in at the time.
Since the cliche is true, that pictures are worth a thousand words (or more!), I am going to show a few pictures of myself, Nancy Mangano, from another photo shoot that I did with photographer Rich Hogan, in his studio at the world famous Hollywood Boulevard and Vine intersection, in Hollywood, California.
I have worked with Rich on various modeling photo shoots throughout the years, and Rich Hogan is the photographer who shot my author picture that you can see on the back covers of my hardcover and paperback books, A Passion for Prying and Murder Can Be Messy.
On the three pictures that I am sharing on this blog post, all three of these photographs were taken on the same day, during the same photo shoot. I merely changed my color of lipstick and my clothes, and you will see the dramatic difference in the looks that I portray in the photographs. This particular photo shoot location was all shot indoors and took a total of three hours tops!
For this fashion shoot, I did my own makeup. As you can see from the pictures, I went minimal with the makeup. I merely put on lipstick, eyeliner and mascara. That is the only makeup that I wore for the entire shoot.
In the first picture, I have on bright red lipstick, which I love. This is a full body shot, and we are actually in the stairwell of this Hollywood building. You can see that I am wearing a dress and heels, with my hair down. Rich took many pictures and poses in this fashion attire, some of me sitting in the director’s chair, some of me standing in the stairwell, etc. With each change of my pose, I took on a different look.

After taking various shots in the red lipstick, I merely removed the red lipstick and put on pink lip gloss (as I said, we didn’t use a professional makeup artist for this particular shoot, as I prefer to do my own makeup when given the choice)! I then changed out of the black dress and into a sportier blue summer shirt and a blue skirt. We are inside the studio with a backdrop, and I lied down on the floor on my side. So the only difference in this photograph from the picture above is pink lips instead of red (no other part of my makeup was touched), I changed my clothes and I altered the position of my pose. So, in fifteen minutes time, I have now created an entirely different look from the girl in the black dress with the red lips, but both pictures are me, on the same day, at almost the same time.
This is what a complete diversity of looks can be achieved simply by something as easy as wearing different shades of lipstick and dressing in another outfit!

If you look at my author picture on the back cover of both of my novels, you will see that this is the same blue top that I am wearing. My author cover photograph was selected from this group of pictures!
For my third clothing ensemble and appearance, I didn’t change my makeup at all from the picture above (I stayed in the same pink lip gloss). For this group of shots, I put on a blazer and pulled one side of my hair up with a hair clip. I am standing up in this shot, and you can see that I now give off a more friendly image, where I could be working in an office or selling a product.

The same girl, on the same day, taking on three distinct visual images merely by different shades of lipstick and a change of clothes. That is the strong power of fashion!
I can’t explain where I got my love of style, beauty and fashion, but I have it in droves. I was born this way! I have often said that if I was ever stranded on a desert island of one, just me, I would still take the time to apply my makeup and adorn my body in cute clothes! That is how much I love being a glamour girl. It’s in my blood!
Fashion is fun, and we all need to have fun from time to time, if not lots of times!
Changing your looks to match your moods can be as simple as changing your color of lipstick!
Try it, I’m sure you’ll like it!
