Denim is a sturdy cotton warp-faced twill textile in which the weft passes under two or more warp threads. This twill weaving produces the familiar diagonal ribbing of the denim that distinguishes it from cotton duck.
Denim Fun Fact: It is characteristic of most denim that only warps threads are dyed, whereas the weft threads remain plain white. As a result of this warp-faced twill weaving, the outside of your jeans shows the blue warp threads and the inside shows the white weft threads!

4. Train Tracks: These appear on the outseams of the denim. This pattern forms two sets of parallel fades which resemble train tracks.
