As a lifelong lover of fashion, I remember a particular flowered skirt and vest set that I got the summer of going into my senior year of high school. The ensemble was part of my new school clothes menagerie, that my mom took my sister and I shopping for toward the end of every summer. How I loved when it was time to go new school clothes shopping!
At this time, I had turned sixteen-years-old, and I drove a friend of mine, along with me of course, to Newport Beach, California for a day of fun in the sun! I still remember it was a hot August day, and for lunch, we walked down the strand to a pizza and soda shop. On the way to get some food, we passed a small female clothing boutique that sat on the strand, and I still remember vividly seeing a darling flower dress adorning a mannequin in the window. I was struck! We went into the store, and they had the flowered skirt and vest in my size! Besides going home with a tan that day, I went home accompanied by a new eye catching outfit to add to my school clothes collection.
I can still see that stylish, pretty two piece dress set in my mind as clearly as if the outfit was draped on me today. Burgundy, red, blue, green and purple colors, and the pattern was splattered with large and small flowers, with lace trim decorating the front of the vest! The skirt was a pencil skirt that fit snug and stopped a few inches above my knee. If I were to walk into a clothing store today, and see an exact replica of that precise outfit, I would buy the alluring garment a second time. How is that for getting my mom’s (and dad’s) money’s worth?
That is the fun that is fashion!

The next time that you venture out shopping for a summer outfit, why not go the flower fabric route and treat yourself to your own bouquet of flowers? You deserve it!
Benefit of wearing flower prints over fresh flowers: You don’t need to water them constantly!  However, make sure that you wash and dry your flower materials gently, to ensure that the vibrant, neon colors do not fade!
