FLY INTO FASHION WITH FABULOUS FEATHER EARRINGS!

FLY INTO FASHION WITH FABULOUS FEATHER EARRINGS!

For those of you who have pierced ears, and adore wearing long, showy, gorgeous earrings, many times the earrings can be heavy and pull on the earlobes. If this happens often, the hole in the earlobe can actually slit. A great way to ensure that your earrings remain fashionably chic, yet are as lightweight as a feather, is to wear feather earrings.

A true feather is an epidermal growth that forms a distinctive outer covering, or plumage, on birds. In the case of feathered earrings, most often the feathers are synthetic or artificial feathers, made from fiber woven or fiber non-woven cloth and plastic.

Feathered earrings can create a fashion frenzy. I have a pair of large, black feather earrings that have a thin, long strand of clear rhinestones hanging down the middle. I have had these earrings for over a year, because when I saw them I thought that they were so pretty and I couldn’t pass them up. For me, even as someone who is comfortable wearing large earrings, when I got home and put the earrings on, they looked extremely big to me. Just a few days ago I was going to an event and I decided that it was the perfect time to wear the fancy, large, flowing feather earrings. I put those earrings on (I was wearing black and white) and I absolutely loved the look of the big, yet elegant feathered earrings. So, I finally wore the flying feathered ear jewelry that I have admired on my dresser for over a year!

Feathered Earring Fun Fact: Feathered earrings weigh virtually nothing, so they never hurt or weigh down your ears, and they always look marvelous.

Feathered earrings look fabulous when standing alone simply as feather jewelry, or when the earrings are dolled up with beads, rhinestones, gems, etc.

Feather Fun Fact: In real feathers, the feathers consist of five parts:

  1. Vane – The length of the feather.
  2. Rachis – The main shaft that runs down the center of the feather.
  3. Barb – The individual branches that attach to the rachis (make up the majority of the feather).
  4. Afterfeather – Loose fringes of branches that fluff out from the rachis.
  5. Hollow Shaft, Calamus – At the base of the feather, the rachis expands to form the hollow tubular calamus, or quill.

Synthetic or artificial feathers look identical to real bird feathers, yet, they spare the birds.  Also, synthetic feathers can be made of all colors, single colors, or multi-colors. Somewhere out there, there is a feathered earring that matches any outfit and adds a ton of fashion zing to all of the darling diva queens.

Feather Fun Fact: Eagle feathers have great cultural and spiritual value to American Indians in the United States of America and First Nation peoples in Canada as religious objects. In the United States, the religious use of eagle and hawk feathers is governed by the eagle feather law, a federal law limiting the possession of eagle feathers to certified and enrolled members of federally recognized Native American tribes.

Whether your feather earrings are small and steady, or long and fly in the breeze, there is no denying that your look when wearing feathered earrings will most surely please.
