The event is typically in May or June, toward the end of the school year. Proms are a huge tradition of popular culture and are considered a major event among high school students. The term “prom” is short for “promenade.”

Prom Fun Fact: Events similar to prom take place in other parts of the world. In Australia, the event is called a school formal. In Ireland, a debutante ball or Debs may be held. Debutante balls are also arranged in Australia. In Poland, high schools organize a “studniowka”.
For me personally, style wise, I find mermaid dresses to be the most lovely evening gowns of all. Due to their form-fitting cut and their slender, slinky look, mermaid gowns blow the other styles out of the water! There may be other fish in the sea, but when you’ve tucked your fabulous physique into the mermaid gown, you’ll stand out to a tee!

Of course, there are no rights or wrongs in fashion. So whatever cut and style you prefer, go for it. From ballroom gowns to frilly skirts, if you love your dress, it is simply the best!
