The wrap dress was popularized in 1972 when Diane von Furstenberg displayed a knitted jersey wrap dress that was knee-length and long sleeved. The wrap dress is a dress with a front closure formed by wrapping one side of the dress material across the other side, and knotting the attached ties that wrap around the back at the waist, giving the garment a “wrapped” look. This dress style forms a V-shaped neckline and hugs a woman’s curves in all the right places!
