Shawls Do More Than Turn Up the Heat!

Since fashion is all about flair, fun, style and glamour, rolled into one package, fashion is hot. Your clothes should leave you both looking good and feeling good in them. There are certain garments that are practical, as well as accessorize, your outfits. One such item is the shawl.

A shawl is a simple line of clothing, loosely worn over the shoulders, upper body and arms. A shawl is usually rectangular of square in shape, and drapes loosely over the shoulders, or wraps around your neck.
Shawl: Keeps you feeling warm, keeps you looking hot!

Shawls are used in order to keep warm, to complement clothing, and for symbolic reasons. Shawls make excellent garments to wear to outdoor or outside evening events, on rainy days, on cold days, or days when you merely want to add pizzazz to your outfit.
Shawls are made from many materials, but crochet, wool and knit are common. The material is soft and warm.

Shawl Fun Fact: The first shawls, “shals”, were used in Assyrian times. Later the shawl went into widespread use in the Middle East. Shawls were also part of the traditional male costume in Kashmir, which was introduced via assimilation in the Persian culture.

Shawl Fun Fact: An expensive type of shawl, called Shatoosh, is made from the beard hairs of the wild ibex. The hairs are so fine that a whole shawl can be pulled through a small finger ring.
Shawls do more than turn up the heat! The rev up the temperature of your outfit!

Knit Shawl Fun Fact: Triangular knit lace shawls are usually knitted from the neck down and may or may not be shaped. In contrast, Faroese lace shawls are knitted bottom up and contain a center back gusset. Each shawl consists of two triangular side panels, a trapezoid shaped back gusset, an edge treatment and usually shoulder shaping.
Shawls draped across the back or chest, or merely over the shoulders, make for a demure, elegant, classy accessory to any outfit.

Shawl Fashion Tip: For winter weather, shawls look exceptionally stylish when worn loose over the shoulders, with a buttoned up jacket and a hat or beanie. The shawl wrapped around the neck adds extra punch, as well.
Warm your body temperature and heat up your look. Putting on a shawl is all it took!
“Shawl I wear a shawl, or not?”
“I think I shawl!”
That, for fashion fierceness, says it all!
