Svelte in a Belt!

Aside from the fact that a belt can add sizzle and style to most any outfit, what is the best thing about a belt?

Belts, when worn around the waist, can make you look slim and svelte! Need I say more about the benefits of wearing an eye catching, mouth watering belt?

Using a belt to accessorize your clothes is a popular fashion trend. We all know that a belt is a flexible band or strap, often made of leather or heavy cloth, and is generally worn around the waist. Parts of the belt include the buckle, band and the “lattilus”, which is the unused portion of the belt that hangs loosely or is tucked in once the belt is buckled.

A belt’s primary purpose is to support pants and other articles of clothing. But alas, as we fashionistas do, belts today are used as much for accessorizing and dolling up our outfits as they are used for the practical purpose of ensuring that our pants don’t fall down!

No matter how practical the garment or accessory is, in the realm of fashion, it is equally as important that the item is aesthetically pleasing!

Belts come in a variety of styles, some being braided belts, red belts, corset style belts, chain belts and sash belts. Belts can be thick, thin, skinny and wide. Some common materials used to make belts are leather, cloth, elastic and chain.

Wide belts can enhance a woman’s figure, as they can cinch in the waist and make an hourglass  shape on the body. If there is extra material on the garment in the middle area, attaching a waist belt helps to pull the fabric in and hug the body, developing the hourglass figure and slimming the appearance of the waist!

Skinny belts wear well with comfortable, casual dresses and with pants or jeans that hug the hips. Belts can be added to your outfit whether the garment does or does not have belt loops.Â

Belts are not always worn at the waist or around the hips. Some belts are placed higher than the waist, hugging the rib cage area. A belt worn in this manner is beyond cute and fashionable!

Adding a belt to your outfit has many positive benefits. A belt can:

  1. Make a dress or top that is shapeless become form fitting on your body.
  2. Add spice and design to a plain outfit.
  3. Hide figure flaws and give you a svelte, slim, thinner appearance.
  4. When placed tightly around the middle, the look of your waist loses inches.

I simply adore chain belts. Whether long or short, thick or thin, gold or silver, jeweled or plain, chain belts are a fashionista paradise! Chain belts work real well when worn loosely around the hips, and dangle over your hip area! Chain belts also provide visual appeal when wrapped around the waist!
